Commissioned by the Vale of Glamorgan county Council this 1.5m diameter 3D map was produced to highlight the work carried out by the Restore the Thaw Landscape project. The map shows the route of the river Thaw through Cowbridge town and the surrounding landscape and set along it are a series of bronzes reflecting local flora and fauna.
Based on Lidar data of the area and CNC milled from a single piece of Portland stone by Abbey Masonry the map took 9 days to mill.
Built from local Blue lias stone the plinth , and surrounding cobbles, were constructed by fantastic stonemason Jon Wilson.
