Commissioned by Natural Resources Wales as part of their flood defence scheme in Roath park, Cardiff, this project involved working with the local community to decide what kind of artwork they'd like to see in the park once the flood defences are completed. The location for the artwork is the site of a medieval water mill, first mentioned in historical references in 1102, so the community preference was to create a 3D scale model of this important building. Local school pupils will now be involved in designing patterning relating to the mill which will be included in the final model.
The model will be cast in bronze and set onto a pennant stone plinth and is due for installation late 2017.
